Major Accomplishments eTravelStores Marketplace Platform is the brainchild of Mayank, who took his dream of building a world empowered with the infotech edge to newer dimensions. Partnering with Worldspan by Travelport, Walt Disney World, Kuoni Tours, Pegasus, and Carnival Cruise Lines along with other leading travel and tourism companies, Mayank built the first of its kind real time Travel Marketplace Platform and enabled it for global travel distribution. To facilitate the transactions on the eTravelStores Marketplace Platform with global suppliers and resellers, Mayank also architected PayBrokers, a highly sophisticated Stored Value Account system that is interwoven within the eTarvelStores Marketplace Platform to facilitate the highly secured online e-commerce and mobile m-commerce transactions in real-time. PayBrokers has also been ported to the Music, Finance and Healthcare industries in several flavors. Mayank is also the creator of TravelCluster.com a Social Networking Site with an e-commerce implementation dedicated exclusively for the global Travel Trade professional. Mayank’s latest endeavor has been a turnkey travel business infrastructure company called DesiAgents. It seeks to empower the aspiring entrepreneurs in local communities and bring on new a segment of professionals in to the travel trade. DesiAgents also enable existing small and mid size independent travel agents to compete with the leading online travel agencies (OTA) and traditional large offline travel agency chains. Mayank has extensive hands-on experience in the workings and managing the entire lifecycle of several business and information technlogy projects including concept, design, architecture, development, financing, acquisitions, marketing, implementation and support stages. Mayank’s professional career began in the mid 1980’s as a Field Tax Auditor with the State of California. This provided a platform to initiate his information technology aspirations. In 1988-89, Mayank was instrumental in deploying the first of its kind laptop computing project for Field Tax Auditors throughout the State of California. Mayank quickly gained experience and advanced through the ranks and was appointed as the Chief Network Administrator and was instrumental in several key automation projects. Academics Mayank is a 1987 graduate from the Walker Business School at the Appalachian State University in North Carolina, USA and a 1984 Commerce and Economics undergraduate from the University of Bombay (Mumbai), India. Affiliations and Accomplishments Mayank has been an active member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneur) Florida and Skål International (a professional organization of tourism leaders). When he is not setting new trails in info-technology, Mayank is busy sharing his insights as a prolific speaker and inspiring writer lending his signature to various articles on travel, travel-related technologies, business process development, outsourcing, leadership and many other topics and issues.
